Just as U.S. adults overall are divided along religious and political lines in their attitudes about abortion, Catholics too vary in their views, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis.
Among U.S. Catholics who attend Mass at least once a week, 68% say abortion should be illegal in all or most cases, while among Catholics who do not attend Mass weekly, 65% say abortion should be legal in all or most cases. Moreover, Catholic Republicans are far more conservative on a range of abortion questions than are Catholic Democrats.
