USA: Columbus chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community hold’s its annual Seeratun-Nabi Day – A Report

The Columbus chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community held its annual Seeratun-Nabi Day program on Sunday, January 24 at 12pm via Zoom — commemorating the true character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him).

Presided & moderation by Rafi Malik of the Columbus chapter, the guests included —
Dr. Michael Jenkins, President of Universal Peace Federation International
Shamshad Ahmad Nasir, Regional Missionary, Great Lakes Region of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
Total attendees of the program is estimated to be over 150.

As always, the program started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an followed by a poem in praise of the Holy Prophet (sa).

Rafi sahab, in his opening remarks, he explained the significance and purpose of holding the Seeratun-Nabi day programs, saying that these programs are held to remember and appreciate the true character of the Holy Prophet (sa) and to remind ourselves how the Holy Prophet (sa) conducted himself and dealt with friends and foes, the poor, and the needy, and led by example in every aspect of his life. He said that this divinely guided great man brought about a revolution in the world and pointed out that Michael Hart — in his book, ranking the 100 most influential persons in history—ranked the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) as #1.

Naseer Wasim in his presentation spoke about the Holy Prophet (sa) being merciful in his daily life highlighting this overarching characteristic of the Holy Prophet (sa) towards his relatives, friends, enemies, the poor and needy.

Kamil Salam, Qa’ed of local Majlis, related read a few Ahadith (sayings of the Holy Prophet (sa)) giving insights into various aspects of his everyday life, about taking care the neighbors and friends Orphans and needy people.

Young children also participated by melodiously singing a poem in the praise of the Holy Prophet.

The guest speaker, Dr. Michael Jenkins spoke about his interfaith experiences with Muslim communities around the globe and spoke about the significance of such efforts.

Dr. Ahsan Syed gave an update of the current COVID-19 situation and the vaccine.

In concluding remarks, Imam Shamshad Ahmad Nasir, Regional Missionary, thanked the guests for joining the program and mentioned his past interaction with Universal Peace Federation during his time in Houston, also mentioning a memorable conference in which he had presented a copy of the Holy Qur’an to Rev. Moon in Korean language.

Dr Jenkins acknowledged that he had remembered it. Shamshad Ahmad Nasir highlighted the essence of holding the Seeratun-Nabi program. He reminded that although there are efforts everywhere to establish peace, it is not possible to attain peace unless the world recognizes and accepts the Promised Messiah of this age.

The program ended with silent prayer led by Shamshad Ahmed Nasir.
