Queen Elizabeth II to Get Vaccine; U.S. Nears Jabs: Virus Update

Queen Elizabeth II, the U.K.’s 94-year-old monarch, will reportedly get a coronavirus vaccine, partly to help promote uptake. The nation will start inoculations on Tuesday, followed by the U.S. as soon as Friday.

The U.K. also said that a no-deal Brexit won’t disrupt vaccine shipments. Switzerland will begin jabs next month. Denmark may toughen curbs, while cases in Poland have eased. South Korea introduced stricter social-distancing measures following a resurgence of the virus.

California set another record for infections and more than half the state now faces new restrictions. New York City’s outbreak similarly worsened. Fatalities across the U.S. are rising sharply.
