Saudi Arabia blocks Iran from Islamic grouping’s meeting – Tehran

DUBAI (Reuters) – Saudi Arabia has barred an Iranian delegation from an Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Jeddah on Monday where U.S. President Donald Trump’s Middle East peace plan will be discussed, the Iranian foreign ministry said.

Saudi authorities have not issued visas for the Iranian participants, ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said.

“The government of Saudi Arabia has prevented the participation of the Iranian delegation in the meeting to examine the ‘deal of the century’ plan at the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,” Mousavi said, the Fars news agency reported.

Mousavi said Iran has filed a complaint with the OIC and accused Saudi Arabia of misusing its position as the host for the organization’s headquarters. There was no immediate comment from Saudi officials.

Iranian officials have condemned Trump’s plan for resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine as a non-starter after it was officially announced last week. The Palestinian leadership has rejected the plan, saying it heavily favours Israel and will deny them a viable independent state.

Saudi Arabia and Iran are locked in a proxy war as they vie for influence across the Middle East. They support opposite sides in the conflicts in Syria and Yemen.

  1. KSA ( Sunni) and Iran ( Shiah ) have been fighting since thousand years ago—till to day—millions Muslims both sides have been suffering and death— no sign this fighting will end—

Do you thing Islam still religion of peace? I do not think so .
The most scholars still claim Islam is religion of peace-/ but when we read al Quran and Hadith we find easily : kill kafir, apostate, blasphemy, infidel, Lgbt, Musrykun etc.

Al Quran and Hadith have to be Renewal !! Otherwise there in peace !

    • Somi: You forget I was (on and off) in Baghdad from 2003 to 2011. I think I can say I understand the region. And the Sunni / Shiah thing as well. The ‘clash’ between KSA and Iran has NOTHING TO DO with Shiah / Sunni disputes. It is all about power. KSA think it has the sole right to lead the Muslims, because they are ‘custodians of the two holy mosques’ (not because they are Sunni). The Iranian do not agree. If they could agree to be equal partners all would be fine. – In Iraq there used to be many inter-marriages. Before the Americans came and practiced the old ‘divide and rule’ thing Iraqis were angry if you asked them ‘are you Sunni or Shiah’. They would answer ‘we are Iraqis’. – If the Sunni / Shiah thing would be religious would they not try to convert each other? Did you ever hear a Sunni inviting a Shiah to convert? (or vice versa?).
But, yes, I have given up hope to convince you. You stick to your old ideas as usual and do not listen to explanations…

      • Yer I agree some how it is about power— but do not forget on the groud extremist sunni accuse shiah are not Muslim as well as Ahmadiyah—they think Shiah / Ahmadiyah insult Prophet Muhammad and should be punished as we see they bombed or killed Shiah / ahmadiyah in Pakistan and Indonesia. This is the fact, you cannot deny it.

Wahhabi Salafi persecute Ahmadiyyah because of power? No, it is all about faith ( religion) —

Yes each of them want to have power, those who has power they can survive and they can control the wealth which is God given on earth such as OIL.etc

Why do you pretand to be a fool one? You want to fool people. It is not wise! Tell the truth even it hurt you or ahmadiyyah.

So as long as KSA and Iran cannot live in peace—there is no peace! Believe me!
