Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s auxiliary [Lajna Imaillah] host an interfaith event promoting religious harmony and unity at Masjid Mahmood in Palluruthy.
The event was organised by the Palluruthy and Kochi chapters of Lajna Imaillah.
It was attended by Councillors, teachers and the secretary of a women’s organisation.Division Councillor Advocate Sunila shelvan inaugurated the event. Appreciating the initiative she said:
Whenever the unity and peace of a society is shattered, the victims are always women & children. So, women must strive towards establishing peace in the society.”
Rabiya Shoukath, the district president of women’s Auxilliary of Ahmadiyya Muslim jamaat spoke about the need of religion and how its true message always stood for peace.
Nelofar, a member of Lajna Ima’illah delivered a speech explaining true Islam, she said:
The Holy Qur’an advocates human rights and freedom of expression from page to page. The life of the prophet of Islam exemplified compassion and a deep love for humanity throughout his life. So, instead of fearing Islam by the hateful atrocities committed by a small minority whose have no idea about the essence of Islam, it is time that we all learn the true teaching of peaceful Islam and also analyse the geopolitical interests the groups target.”
Joodit P.F, Ramani P.K and R. Rachana offered felicitations for the event.
R. Rachana, area secretary of Mahila Association, called on the importance of assimilating and living in brotherhood with other religions and cultures.
Guests expressed their happiness and surprise for conducting this event in a mosque.
Balkees, president of women’s auxiliary, Palluruthy and Ramla, president of women’s auxiliary, Kochi welcomed and thanked for the audience.
