Sahil Munir Ahmed is the Imam of Ahmadiyya Mosque in Anfield , which he says has been repeatedly targeted by vandals scrawling vile abuse on the building.

Mr Ahmed told the ECHO: “Of course if police are there, it would make people feel more safe.”

“Last year people were writing things on our mosque saying ‘leave this country’ and ‘ ISIS ‘ in graffiti on our building. People can’t distinguish between good and bad.

“We want a closer society here in Anfield but there’s so much hatred towards us. We want to invite the people who hate us in here to show them the peaceful teaching of Islam.” Read more at source.
