Pakistan: Ahmadiyya Mosque attacked in Sialkot

Masjid Mubarak, a 100 years old mosque, was attacked during the night by a violent mob. Next door house was also damaged. Local administration, police officers, journalists were at the sight while this was going on. Local administration was helpless and stood by as a spectator while mad mullahs and their cohorts continued unabashed with the destruction of Ahmadiyya property.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – A mob led by right-wing Muslim clerics tore down the dome and minarets of a 100-year old Pakistani mosque belonging to the marginalized Ahmadi community, officials and the community said on Thursday.

Ahmadis are one of the most persecuted groups in Sunni-majority Pakistan, with Islamists and religious hardliners labelling them heretics, while harsh Pakistani laws ban them from calling themselves Muslims or using Islamic symbols.

Saleemuddin, a spokesman for the Ahmadi community, said a mob stormed the mosque complex in Sialkot, near the Indian border in Punjab province, overnight. He put the number at several hundred.

He said there was collusion between the mob and local government officials, but police denied such accusations.

Asad Sarfraz, a police official, said municipal government officials were at the mosque complex removing what he called “illegal renovation”.

“An emotionally charged mob of people belonging to different groups and segments of society reached there and damaged several parts of the building,” Sarfraz said.

Sarfraz said about 60-70 people were involved and authorities were attempting to identify the attackers.

Saleemuddin denied the renovation work was illegal and said the community had obtained permission from the local government to upgrade the building. He shared an application approved by the municipal government with Reuters.

A social media video of the attack’s aftermath shows a crowd cheering a local cleric, who then claims to have ransacked the mosque.

Creed of Islam or Kalimah should define and unite all Muslims — After all by reading Kalimah non-Muslims accept Islam. There is far more that unities each and every Muslim than separates us

  1. Very Sad and Miserable. The current terrorism and very bad situation of the state is only because the Governments allowed Mullahs to do very thing wrong against Ahmedies .. but same thing is happening and will happen more severely within all other religious sects soon.

  2. State of Pakistan has failed once again to protect peaceful local minorities and their places of worship. Their leaders support deadly talibans and their bizzare ideology.

What a sad incident and that too in a month of Ramadan. This is no way is an Islamic way. These sick terrorists are not just declining Quran teachings but have failed to decline teachings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH but also Hadith and Sunnah.

This is coward, barbaric and unacceptable on all counts.

Pakistani government and their political and religious parties should be ashamed once again of their wrongdoings and cowardly acts against peaceful people.

We send lots of our sincere prayers your way and hope you are all safe!

  3. Astaghfirullah! What is it with these mullahs who seem to get even more obnoxious during the holy month of Ramadhan and commit such abusive acts?

I have noticed that every year during Ramadhan these fanatics provoke their equally IGNORANT AND FOOLISH followers into taking the law (if there is any still functioning in this so-called ‘Islamic Republic of Pakistan’), into their own hands and persecute minorities, especially our peaceful Ahmadiyya community.

They become judge and jury and take Allah’s place (more so during Ramadhan than the rest of the year), and kill, maim and destroy people and property belonging to our community.

Maybe, they believe in their warped minds and beliefs that doing so during this blessed month will earn them Allah’s blessings, when in fact, just the opposite is the case, unfortunately.

    Shame on them!!!!

  4. I just wonder why Ahmadiyya members are so silence? We do not hear a condemnation and feel sorry to their members were persecuting -/

Second why we do not hear and see to collect donation from 5 million members to built their houses again?

Very sad news recently for Ahmadiyyah and Christian who have been persecuted by the extremist terrorust Muslim in the name of Islam—

Image of Islam has been destroyed for so long—this horrible news will never stop —- except dare to correct the wrong teaching of Islam.

Government has to protect Christian, Ahmadiyy and Shiah as minority group in Islamic countries

    All love ❤️
I wish you all a blessed and peaceful ramadhan

    • slowly slowly … of course the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at is taking a lot of steps. In Indonesia many contacts are happening with various Government agencies and Human Rights Organizations and other Muslim Organizations. We receive a lot of verbal support. Real action? we are waiting. – And … as houses have been rebuilt and again destroyed it is prudent to ask for some security arrangements and security guarantees. These seem to take some time. Let’s see. – in Pakistan? All Government agencies seem to be a hopeless case. When our mosques were attacked and 80+ people were murdered only one politician said some positive words – and he was murdered himself. Therefore none seems to have the courage.

      • In other words: in Indonesia there is a little hope, in Pakistan I do not see any. (Readers: does any one have another opinion?)

  5. Why do Ahmadiyya condemn strongly the extremist Muslim who has been persecuting the weak ordinary Ahmadiyya severely— why and why!

I cannot imagine it how fear Ahmadiyyah Muslim are now—HQ Ahmadiyyah has to take responsibility because they are Ahmadiyya. Dont be silent Zia, Rafiq, Riffat and others.

Speak up loudly intil your voice be heard—this horrible evil will continue if Ahmadiyyah cannot protect them in Indonesia and Pakistan

When Islamophobia try to ban Hijab, you guys give respond quickly and loudly—- but if the extremist ban and persecute Ahmadiyyah phisically you keep silent—why?

Ahmadiyyah Muslim have to be brave, responsible and honest to protect the equal right of Ahmadiyyah

    All love ❤️
I wish you all a blessed and peaceful Ramadhan

    • I assure you a lot is being done. Just because we do not create a mob does not mean we are silent. And, yes, the media is better in showing destruction than construction or destructive engagement than constructive engagement. Nothing new in that. But our actions are civilized. In Indonesia we are able to generate a lot of support against these radicals in newspapers and among many agencies. In Pakistan? That seems a rather hopeless case, but still there are some voices against these idiocies.

  6. Very unfortunate Allah take care of these peoples who are destroying the peace in Jinnah Pakistan & bring righteous peoples to government who are truely love Jinnah Pakistan
