And it looks a lot like a plan to squeeze Iran.

There seems to be a general consensus in Washington that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s ongoing purge of princes and businessmen — including the wealthiest of them all, the business mogul and Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal — is motivated by his determination to consolidate his power, well before his father, King Salman, passes from the scene. He is in this regard a latter-day Adonijah, who had himself crowned king while his father King David was alive. And, like Adonijah, Mohammed bin Salman has made some very powerful enemies in the process. Unlike that Biblical figure, however, he has his father’s support and has taken care to arrest anyone who might threaten his drive to preeminence.

Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor, was in Riyadh again only recently. It was his third trip to Saudi Arabia since Trump took office. He again met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with whom he appears to have established a close personal relationship. It should therefore come as no surprise that Trump, who shares the young crown prince’s antipathy toward Iran, has commented favorably on the recent developments in Riyadh.

  1. iT is very frustrating when we can see wars troubles difficulties coming and cannot do anything about it. Except to pray …

    • Especially in supplying the arms, of course! And the added bonus for Israel and the USA is that a fellow Muslim country will be doing their dirty work for them regarding Iran…

  2. Everyone has their own interest. Israel wants to destroy Hezbollah, the only fighters strong enough and with sufficient courage to take on the Israelis. And then USA, Israel and the Saudis want to go against Iran. Uncountable US military bases already surround Iran, but that is not sufficient for them .Instead of following the advice of the Holy Qur’an to make friends between Muslims the Saudis listen to the Israelis and the Americans (who have their own agenda). If there was a will it would be easy to make friends with Iran. It is in neither country’s interest to go to war. (except for some twisted minds).

  3. And then there is also the Golan Heights issue along with Israel’s expansionist ambitions. Of course, Iran has been on the cards for a long time, and they’re next on the list. Sadly, more wars can be expected.

    • more dangerous and acute I think is the issue of Hezbollah. Israel was happy that they were busy in Syria, now that the conflict is coming to a close there they are worried about a strengthened Hizbollah.

  4. Oh dear, Somi Tempo, that really is something to worry about. The Zionist dream will be realised. I hope not.

    • @ Renate— As we know that Arthodoc Jews ( Extremist Jews) hate and do not recognize the state of Israel, because they say; The system of government do not follow the book of Tourat, Zionist Government follow the system democratic seculare.

Arthodox Jewd and Islamic extremist or arthodox Islamis
Is alike. Both want to create a religious state, anti the system of democratic seculare.

Both are enemy of humanity or global sosiety.
We have to fight the arthodox ideology or rxtremist ideology for PEACE.
