Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Kingston chapter giving out food packs to homeless people
Young Muslims from Kingston spent their Sunday distributing food packs to homeless people in central London.
Ten members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) Kingston chapter gave out hundreds of packs as part of their ‘Muslims for Humanity’ campaign.
During the campaign members perform actions for the community, such as clean up streets, donate to food banks and collect for charities.
Tajammal Ahmad, Youth Leader for AMYA Kingston said: “Our members have enjoyed living in London for decades and so any opportunity to help our community here is welcome. As Muslims we are encouraged to partake in charity and are reminded of our social responsibility to help our communities, particularly those who are homeless or vulnerable.
“Ramadhan is a time when you should be worshiping and serving humanity more than ever. This presents us with an opportunity to become better. We are peace-loving British Muslims and will continue to do all we can to serve our community as best we can and wherever there is a need.”
