Such an event took place on January 7th, 2017 at Ankeny Iowa at Kirkendall Public Library. The local chapter of Ahmadiyya Muslim community organized this event. Imam Shamshad from Chicago Illinois was invited as a guest speaker. He was also accompanied by Mr. Mashhood Mirza. Besides members, non-Muslim guests were present and asked various questions. The Theme of this event was “Muhammad The Mercy for all Mankind”?

A Chinese friend asked questions about ISIS. Why do they call themselves Muslims while they don’t follow Islamic teachings? Why Muslims are fighting among themselves and does Islam teach peace or terrorism?

Imam Shamshad and President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mr. Edin Bajrektarevic answered all questions to the satisfaction of the guests.

Imam Shamshad said ISIS does not represent Islam at all, in fact, ISIS hijacked Islam. Islam teaches peace, tolerance, harmony and respect to all religions and their leaders. Imam also mentioned that the example of the founder of Islam, Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is not to harm anyone, but to show mercy to everyone without discrimination of race, color, and faith.
