LAHORE – Shahbaz Taseer – the abducted son of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer – will reach home on Wednesday (today) nearly after a gap of five years in abduction.
Shahbaz Taseer will be shifted from Quetta to Lahore via special flight. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that law enforcement agencies commenced an intelligence based targeted operation on a hotel in Kuchlaq area on Tuesday late evening and recovered Shahbaz Taseer.
“He is now in safe hands, good health and condition and arrangements are being made to send him to his home in Lahore,” the official said. His release came just over a week after his father s killer was hanged.
Shahbaz was kidnapped from Lahore on Aug 26, 2011 near his company’s head office few months after the assassination of his father. Shahbaz left his house from Cavalry Ground in his silver Mercedes Kompressor (LZT-1) for his office around 10:15am. His car was intercepted by a black SUV and motorbike around 600 yards from the office and up to three men dragged Taseer out of the car and took him away.
