TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has strongly condemned the Saudi execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, saying the entire world, including Muslim nations, should react to this “crime”.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks at the start of his teaching to clerics at the post-jurisprudence level on Sunday, according to the khamenei.ir website.

The world should show a sense of responsibility towards this crime and similar crimes committed by the Saudi regime in Yemen and Bahrain, the Leader noted.

The Leader said, “This innocent scholar did not invite the people to an armed struggle, nor did he endeavor to hatch a secret plot. The only thing that he did was to make criticisms in an outspoken manner and to counsel the people to do good and advise them against evil and this originated from his religious zeal.”

Ayatollah Khamenei described the martyrdom of Sheikh Nimr and shedding his blood without any cogent reasons as the political mistake of the Saudi government.

“Allah the Exalted will not forgive shedding the blood of an innocent person. Shedding the blood of this innocent person will cause serious troubles for the politicians and criminals of this regime in a very short period of time.”

He also criticized the silence of those who make claims about freedom, democracy and human rights and condemned such people’s support for the Saudi regime that sheds the blood of innocent people just because they raise their voices against certain issues.

He added, “The world of Islam and the whole world should have a sense of responsibility towards this matter.”

He stated that torturing the people of Bahrain and destroying their mosques and houses, and also bombarding the people of Yemen for more than 10 months are other examples of the crimes committed by the Saudi regime.

“Those who sincerely care about the fate of humanity, human rights and justice should pursue these events and they should not be indifferent about this situation,” Ayatollah Khamenei noted.

The Leader told his students, “Shahid Sheikh Nimr will undoubtedly receive the grace of God and the hands of divine vengeance will surely snatch – by their necks – those cruel individuals who took his life and this is a source of comfort for us.”

The Leader calls the killing of Sheikh Nimr “without any cogent reasons the political mistake of the Saudi government”.

  1. From my view base on Allah’s laws;

    Saudi Arabia’s laws say that non citizen is allowed to criticize its government’s policy, those who criticize government is an crime act–should be punished.
    Sheikh Nimr should obey the rule of Government, even he did not like it.

    All citizen have to obey the existence authority, even you do not like or against your faith you have the right to protest peacefully.

    BIBLE.
    Everyone must obey the existing authorities, because no authority exists without God’s permission, and the existing authorities have been put there by God.Whoever opposes the existing authority opposes what God has ordered .Roman 13:1-2).

    BUT SAUDI ARABIA should follow Allah’s laws such as Government has to protect the right of speech, expression and religion. Also Saudi Arabia has to obey HUman Right.

    We. as Muslim around the world have to speak up and demand Saudi Arabia to obey Human Right and Allah’s laws as well.In other word, Saudi Arabia has to protect the right of religious minority such as the right to speech, criticize, expression and the right to hold a position in Government etc etc

    As Allah said;
    Proverb 31:8. Speak up for people who can not speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless.speak for them and be a righteous judge.protect the right of the poor and needy.

    QS 4:75. And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)? Men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help.

    Saudi Arabia is the one who violate Allah’s laws and International laws, Muslim should condemn Saudi Arabia.

    So as long as Saudi Arabia ignore the laws of Allah and United nations, there is no peace in middle east. Saudi Arabia is the main key to solve this serious problem in Islamic society and the world generally. Because Islam was born in Saudi Arabia, Meccah is the city where Muslim go ti Hajj every year, and also all Muslim around the world worship Allah ( Shalat ) and face Meccah or Saudi Arabia 5 times a day.

    So Saudi Arabia is main key to achieve Peace. Conversely also Saudi Arabia is the main source of serious problem we are facing today.

    May Allah guide all Muslim scholars and dare to take a huge courage to seek peace.

    Was Salam–Love
