Two Pakistani clerics fight at meeting over status of Ahmadi sect

Guardian: Two Pakistani clerics have come to blows at a meeting of the religious establishment over the fraught issue of the status of Ahmadis, a Muslim sect that hardliners want declared apostates.

A scuffle broke out on Tuesday between the two at a gathering of Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) when the chairman, Mohammad Khan Sherani, called on the group to consider whether Ahmadis, who are declared non-Muslims by the constitution, should be considered murtads that have rejected Islam.

A declaration of apostasy by the constitutional body charged with advising parliament on lawmaking would likely put Ahmadis in even greater peril, given that many interpretations of Islamic law prescribe death for people who quit the religion.

Tahir Ashrafi, a liberal-minded voice on the CII, strongly opposed any discussion of the incendiary issue, prompting a furious confrontation with Sherani, who is also an elected member of parliament.

  1. CII (COUNCIL of INTOLERANT IDIOTS) is a useless and unjust tool in the hands of a band of IDIOTS supported by a very naive Pakistani Government.

Day by day the government supported Mullahs are becoming a shame for the country.

So long as there will be the anti-Ahmadiyya laws in the Pakistani constitution, the country will continue to earn its place as a failed state.

I am reminded of a prophecy of the Holy Founder of Islam (PBUH) when he talking about the so called Ulemas of our time: “Evil will come from them..and return to them”

  2. From my view, only tolerant and liberal-progressive brand of Islam that could show the way of peace in this beautiful world.

Conservative brand of any religion that always create conflict in our society, because they are not tolerance, oppressive and lack of love to others.

    Parents should teach their children to love and respect other belief, and teach children with Allah’s word of love as following;

    THE FIRST GOD’S COMMANDMENT.
1.Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
    THE SECOND GOD’S COMMANDMENT.
2.Galatian 5:14. The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself. If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

    3. Romans 12:20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.

    4. Laviticus 19:33. Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner in living in your country, love them as you love self. Remember that you were foreigner in Egypt”.

    5. John 2:10-11. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.

    6. Luke 6:28 Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
    7. John 15:12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
    8. 1 John 4:8; “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love”
    9. John 4:16 : “Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in them.”
    10. QS.3;31.Say: “If you do love Allah, follow Me : Allah will love you and forgive you your sins; for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

11.. QS 21:107. And We have not sent you ( Muhammad ) on earth, but as mercy for all the worlds. ( all mankind).
    12. The Prophet Mohammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “None of you has faith until you love for your neighbor what you love for yourself.”

These Golden Rules are found in Christianity, Judaism, and other religions. These are the messages we must give the next generation.(our children and grandchildren)

These words of love of Allah are so powerful to shape our children behavior or character and to became a good Muslim.

    Was Salam
