Advent is the time that Christians prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus on Christmas.

Hanukkah is the Jewish holiday that is celebrated over eight nights and days and commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Bodhi Day, December 8
Bodhi Day commemorates the day that the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, experienced enlightenment while sitting under a peepal tree. 

Yule, December 21
Yule is a religious festival celebrated by historically Germanic people, later undergoing Christianised reformulation resulting in the now better-known Christmastide.

Mawlid Al-Nabi, December 23
This is the observance of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.

Christmas, December 25
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it is prepared for by the season of Advent. 

Kwanzaa, December 26
Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration held in the United States honoring African heritage in African-American culture.

Zarathosht Diso, December 26
This is the day commemorating the death of the prophet Zarathustra, the founder of the tradition.
