Together we can conquer hatred

Every human life is sacred and we cry for each loss

By Michael Haines and Barbara Henning, October 17, 2014

Tomorrow afternoon a memorial service will be held for David Haines, one of the three Britons kidnapped by Isis in Syria. David and Alan Henning travelled to Syria to help their fellow man by delivering vital humanitarian support to those who needed it most. Their desire to help was not driven by their religion, race or politics, but by their humanity. David and Alan were never more alive than when helping to alleviate the suffering of others. They gave their lives to this cause and we are incredibly proud of them.

We are writing this letter because we will not allow the actions of a few people to undermine the unity of people of all faiths in our society. How we react to this threat is also about all of us. Together we have the power to defeat the most hateful acts. Acts of unity from us all will in turn make us stronger and those who wish to divide us weaker. David and Alan’s killers want to hurt all of us and stop us from believing in the very things which took them into conflict zones – charity and human kindness. We condemn those who seek to drive us apart and spread hatred by attempting to place blame on Muslims or on the Islamic faith for the actions of these terrorists.

We have been overwhelmed by the messages of support we have received from the British public and others around the world. We call on all communities of all faiths in the coming weeks and months to find a single act of unity – one simple gesture, one act, one moment – that draws people together, as we saw in Manchester last week and as we are coming together in Perth today. We urge churches, mosques and synagogues to open their doors and welcome people of all faiths and none. All these simple acts of unity will, in their thousands, come together to unite us and celebrate the lives of David and Alan. This is what David and Alan truly stood for.

Islam teach peace, love, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, justice for all, and prosperity. Islam is mercy for all mankind.

Evil is against Allah’s laws, such as; teach hatred, kill people, harm people, judge people, corruption, etc.

Love is the seed of peace, and happiness, but hatred is the seed of the darkness and violence

    With love

  2. @ Guido Sarducci..====
The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule===

Yes I agree with you that there are many verses of Allah to command Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his followrs Muslim to kill nonbelievers….in context of war.

Allah command Prophet to kill enemy who want to kill Prophet for defending his life.

Allah sent down His laws in 2 conditions, 1,in war time, 2 in peaceful time,

In peaceful Time Allah commanded prophet and his followers to love and just as Allah says in Al Quran.

    1. QS 60;8.It is hoped that Allah will bring about love between you and those of them with whom you have enmity. 2 Allah is Powerful, and Allah is Most-forgiving, Very-Merciful. Allah does not forbid you as regards those who did not fight you on account of faith, and did not expel you from your homes, that you do good to them, and deal justly with them. Surely Allah loves those who maintain justice.

    Life is Sacred.
We decreed for the children of Isra’il that whoever kills a person not in retaliation for a person killed, nor (as a punishment) for spreading disorder on the earth, is as if he has killed the whole of humankind, and whoever saves the life of a person is as if he has saved the life of the whole of humankind. QS5:32.

Hopefully two verses above can convince you that Islam is peaceful religion, teach love, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, justice for all people, equality, Human right, and liberty with freedom of religion, speech and expression.

  3. Nameelee Please take my word.

Please do not believe in other books that men created, except the books of God.( Bible and Al Quran ).

God already warned His people in this world as following’

1.Do not trust in human leaders; no human being can save you. When they die, they return to the dust; on that day all their plans come to the end.Psalm 146:3

2.There is no one in this earth who does what is right all the time and never makes a mistake. Ecc.7:20

3.It is better to trust in God,than depend on man.
It is better to trust in God,than depend on human leaders.Psalm 118:8

4.They have taken their leaders and their scholars for their Lords besides God Q S . 9:31.

Please do not trust 100 percent what people wrote, and said in their books, except Bible and Al Quran.

If you trust men created books. you will go astray or deceived.

Hopefully these verses from God, can convince you better than before—

    With my love
