Ahmadiyya Lay Foundation Of Centenary Mosque As Youths Hold Convention

As part of the remarkable celebration of the 100 years of the Ahmadiyya Muslim jama’at  in NIgeria the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Nigeria has laid the foundation of one of the centenary mosques for the 100 years anniversary of the Islamic organization in Nigeria.

The Mosque named Nana Mosque in Offa, Kwara state is to be built  by Engineer Abdul Ganiy Omokanye a native of Offa now in Canada and later donate to the jama’at for the 100 years celebration in 2016.

Deputy head (Naib Amir) Special Duty) , Alhaji Hammed Al Hassan, speaking on behalf of the Amir, DR Mashuud Fasola, thanked the donor of the mosque urging other muslims to build a house for Allah for greater reward in life and the thereafter.

As part of the remarkable celebration of the 100 years of the Ahmadiyya Muslim jama’at  in NIgeria, early  in the year, the Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria sought the support of the Jamaat members in giving facelifts to the Jama’at mosques across the country .

Many of these mosques have remained uncompleted for a long time, while  there are urgent and compelling need to build new ones to step up tabligh activities, and as part of effort for physical expansion and development of the Jama’at in Nigeria.

Accordingly, a National Mosque Building Trust Fund Committee  was set up to mobilize funds and identify areas for these laudable projects across Nigeria. Members of the committee are:

Dr Y.A. Habeeb, Naib Amir North, Chairman; Alhaji M.B Odukoya, Sadr Majils Ansarullah, Vice Chairman; Alhaji Abdul Azeez Alatoye, Naib Amir Southwest; Abdul Ganiy Enahoro, Naib Amir Eastern Region; Builder Bashir Towolawi, Secretary to the Committee; Alhaji Muffadil Bankole, Chairman of the Jalsa Planning Committee; Qasim Akinreti, Secretary Publications; Engineer Adeoye, Secretary, Audio- Visual; Alhaji Atanda, former Circuit President, Abuja; Alhaji  A.G. Idris, National Financial Secretary; Dr. Samiullah Tahir, Ahmadiyya Hospital, Apapa; and Alhaji Tajudeen Onabanjo from Portharcourt.

The committee has designed models of mosque for the rural, semi-urban and urban areas across the length and breadth of the country.

On this assurances, Engineer Omokanye seized this initiative for heaven reward in memory of his late mother.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization, (MKAN), will hold its first Annual Conference with the theme: ‘The Role of Nigerian Youth in Peace Building Reconciliation and National Development’,on Saturday, 18th April, 2015 at the Mahmud Ahmadiyya College, Ijede, outskirt of Lagos metropolis.

Lecturers have been drawn from different fields of human endeavor to deliver papers on the Role of Nigeria Youth in National Development and  the Role of Nigeria Youth in Peace Building and National Reconciliation.

The event which is the first of its kind in the state would serve as an avenue to select Lagos State representatives for the National Ijtema which holds later on Thursday, 30th April, 2015 at Ijebu Ode.
