Prof Mubarak Ahmad Abid is a renowned poet of Ahmadiyya community. His poem ‘aye fazle umar’ has been a hit with young and old members for a long time. Prof Abid grew up in Rabwah, did his masters from Punjab University, Lahore after his graduation from Talim-ul-Islam College. Incidentally Prof Abid is a former student of Dr Pervazi. Prof Abid has many of his high school classmates living in Toronto like Munir al-Haq Shahid, Syed Hidayatullah Hadi, Zakaria Virk, Safeer Ahmad, Tazeem Malik, Mubarak Qazi and many more. After his retirement from T.I. College he is currently teaching at another institution in Rabwah.

During Prof Abid recent visit to Toronto, two poetry recessions were held in Toronto, one in Mississauga, and one in Tahir Hall, Vaughan, both were attended by many people. His high school classmates took him out for lunch. His poetry collection has been published, and currently Prof Abid is working on his second collection. (ZVirk)
