Thousands attend Million March to express solidarity with Kashmiris

Monday, October 27, 2014 – London—Thousands of people supporting the Kashmir cause participated in the “Million March” here on Sunday to expressed solidarity with Kashmiri people for their decades-long struggle for the right of self-determination.

The Million March started from London’s Trafalgar Square and concluded at 10 Downing Street to protest against human rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied Kashmir.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, his sister Asifa Bhutto Zardari besides Pakistan’s religious, social as well as political parties including MQM participated in the march.

Former prime minister, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Barrister Sultan Mehmood on the occasion said, “We have gathered here to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and to divert attention of the international community towards Kashmir issue”.

He said this struggle would continue till the independence of Kashmir in accordance with the UN resolutions. The participants headed by former AJK Prime Minister and Central Leader of Pakistan People’s Party, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chuahdry presented a memorandum to the British Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street in favour of Kashmiris right to self-determination.
