AROUND 5,000 Muslim men have gathered at Britain’s largest Muslim youth rally pledging allegiance to Queen, Country, Qur’an and Gary Cahill.
Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) will spend three days in the Surrey countryside studying holy texts, discussing their faith and praying communally. But the religious gathering near Farnham kicked off yesterday with a salute to the Union Flag and a sports tournament, while World Cup football matches will be screened live each evening.

The National Itjema is an annual event hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, its name being the Arabic word for gathering. Itjema 2014 is the 42nd such festival to be held in Britain. Founded in British India during the 19th century, the minority Ahmadiyya sect now has about 10 million followers in 204 countries; around one percent of the global Muslim population.
Its current head His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, will address attendees at the Surrey gathering, who represent branches of the AMYA from Aberdeen to Brighton. Also present are members of the British armed forces, police, fire brigades, and ambulance services.

In a statement released on Friday, His Holiness said: “Britain has provided a home for people from across the world. As Ahmadi Muslims, we give thanks to Queen and Country for allowing us to practice our faith freely.
“Islam teaches us to be loyal to the country in which we reside and as Ahmadi Muslims we believe it is our duty to serve the country, to contribute to society and promote peace and good citizenship. When we say Islam means peace, we practice that very fact and demonstrate it with our actions. Our ethos is love for all, hatred for none.”
The Ahmadiyya movement was founded in British India during the 19th century. Followers, known as Ahmadi Muslims, regard Indian holy man Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) as a minor prophet, promised by Muhammad as a crusader for global Islam.
Ghulam Ahmad preached that Jesus had survived crucifixion and migrated to Kashmir, where he later died. He discouraged violent jihad against India’s British Raj as un-Islamic, espousing instead a peaceful “jihad of the pen”.
The AMYA mentors thousands of practising young men at its branches nationwide, teaching respect and tolerance in the moderate Muslim and British traditions. The group rejects extremism and raises funds for charities such as the British Legion.

All extremists, Muslims or non-Muslims are the product of western education system which makes a man stupid, selfish and corrupt. None of 7/7 potential terrorist was ever educated in a Muslim school.
Whilst I agree that you have an immigration problem in this country, I don’t think that this is your main problem. Your main problem is the disintegration of the family unit and the loveless binge drinking environment that your children are growing up in! NEVER in my life have I seen another country where people so seldom give their children a hug and a kiss like in this country and NEVER in my life have I seen another country where there are so many children from different fathers growing up in single parent households! Before you tackle the immigration problem (at least the immigrants LOVE their kids) you should first look at yourselves!

Western education system has done us good so far. Prosperous , open minded creative individuals (men and women) who don’t live in a restrictive world. Who push boundaries of science and innovation of which you have probably greatly benefited.
All those things in your last paragraph are Western world history. You need to look at atrocities committed by the Islamic World or even Far East. After all more slaves were taken from Africa alone by Muslims Slave Traders than Western Slave Traders.
I have nothing but praise for Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association and their actions and beliefs.
No man or woman should have to forget their roots or Religion, but everyone should respect the laws and beliefs of a Country they reside in.
It is unfortunate that it is the rants of people like Iftikhar Ahmad that will attract the media and extremist activists attention on both sides of the extremes.
Headings such as “Why Blame Christianity” only act to inflame reaction from the extremists of either end of the spectrum.
Also by stating things like “NEVER in my life have I seen another country where people so seldom give their children a hug and a kiss like in this country” and “at least the immigrants LOVE their kids” trying to imply that any particular section of society all have the same standards and attitudes is so ridiculous and uneducated.
May organisations like Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association prosper and grow, while people with racist and extreme views like Iftikhar Ahmad from both sides of the divide slither back into the gutter where they belong.
