Iran’s president-elect has sent messages to Syria’s Bashar Assad reaffirming support for his ally.

Iran also said Tuesday it would welcome cease-fire between rebel forces and the Syrian government during the holy month of Ramadan and reiterated that a national dialogue was the only way to resolve the crisis.
