It’s like May 2, 2011 all over again. Except that instead of missing pieces and details, there is a story to satiate your ghairat’s rabidly thirsty disbelief.
Don’t be fooled by the faded A4 paper and plain typewriter font; this isn’t a US Navy Seal’s best-selling hardcover of the Osama bin Laden (OBL) raid. It’s painfully bare in terms of storytelling but there is lots of colour. Quotes from Bin Laden’s wives; his children and the families of those who protected him in his final years. There’s mention of a cowboy hat OBL wore; the six sets of shalwar kameez he had for the winter and summer. It even tells you that OBL’s remedy for lethargy is some chocolate and fruit. And that he was nicknamedmiskeen baba by the naive child of the operative who guarded him. All this and more is available for your viewing pleasure in a ‘leaked’ 337-page report of the Abbottabad Commission’s findings, obtained and made public by Al Jazeera.
Your expectation that due to leakage of this report some one will be stepping forward to accept the responsibility just forget it. Its a wishful thinking which Can never be fulfilled in a society like Pakistan. A society where separation of half country did not spark sense of guilt how a small incident will ignite any guilt feeling. The attitude to ignore such blunders prop up in decades and centuries. From the birth we as nation lack such attitude and no one is ready to accept mistakes. The only lonely obvious example of getting aside is of Sahibzada Yaqoob Ali Khan who left his generalship in ex East Pakistan on matter of principles. Usual attitude of Pakistani leadership is nicely explained in Punjabi word” MITTI PAOU” What ever may occur just ignore and forget it. Never ever any body has explicitly been accounted for any crime or mistake nor any one ever got punishment for such national mistake. Given such scenario for last many decades how you expect any change in the mind set in current situation. Existing parliament is the product of same mind set as such do not expect any thing special.
