ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration officials on Friday rejected a formal request by Minhajul Quran International (MQI) to hold a rally in front of parliament, citing overcrowding and capacity as bottlenecks.
Instead, the administration suggested a change of venue for the MQI’s January 14 rally, proposing the lush fields of the F-9 Park on the city’s outskirts. MQI leaders immediately shot down the proposal.
Sources in the Islamabad administration informed The Express Tribune that the chief of MQI’s Punjab chapter, Ahmed Nawaz Anjum, had formally requested the Islamabad administration to allow the party to hold a peaceful rally at D-chowk.
