Manado, DetikManado.com — The Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi, Dr. J. Victor Mailangkay, S.H., M.H., received a visit from the National Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Indonesia, Zaki Firdaus Sahid, S.T., M.T., on Monday (June 22, 2026), at the Deputy Governor's office. The meeting was warm and cordial, characterized by a sense of kinship, and was attended by staff from the North Sulawesi Provincial Government as well as representatives from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Indonesia.
During the meeting, the Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi commended the various social and humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community across different regions of Indonesia. Notable programs highlighted included disaster response efforts through Humanity First, the establishment of learning centers, the "Clean The City" sanitation campaign, and tree-planting initiatives aimed at environmental conservation. "The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community demonstrates an inclusive national spirit and actively fosters unity amidst the diversity of Indonesian society," the Deputy Governor remarked. Victor Mailangkay welcomed the prospect of collaborating with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community on various social, community, and civic programs, provided they yield positive impacts on the quality of life for the people of North Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, the National Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Indonesia, Zaki Firdaus Sahid, expressed appreciation for the North Sulawesi Provincial Government's stance, which is seen as prioritizing constitutional values in guaranteeing equal rights for citizens. According to him, this approach has made North Sulawesi widely known as a region that upholds tolerance and religious freedom. "This working visit to North Sulawesi is part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's commitment to inclusion—specifically, to create more opportunities for interaction, dialogue, and collaboration across various segments of society in our collective effort to build the nation," stated Zaki Firdaus Sahid. The meeting concluded with an exchange of mementos between the two parties and a reaffirmation of their shared commitment to promptly implement various social and community programs in North Sulawesi. During the working visit, the National Amir—accompanied by the Head of the Manado Ahmadiyya Congregation (Ruslan), the North Sulawesi Regional Missionary (Hafiz Mutu), and other officials—met not only with the Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi but also with the Speaker of the North Sulawesi Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), community and religious leaders, and human rights activists. The series of activities also included remarks by the National Amir at a book discussion event titled "100 Years of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Indonesia," scheduled to be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Manado.
