The Banjarnegara Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) commended the Ahmadiyya community for their active blood donation efforts. Despite being a minority, the Banjarnegara Ahmadiyya community has boldly shown their support in spreading kindness to others.
The congregation also does not hesitate to use the name Ahmadiyah for the PMI blood donor group membership database.
Head of the PMI Banjarnegara Blood Donation Unit, Syarah Mutia Dewi, said that pure blood donation is a humanitarian action to help others.
Therefore, participants are not discriminated against based on beliefs or organizational affiliation. Instead, they appreciate minority groups willing to actively participate in promoting this humanitarian activity.
“We don’t discriminate. We embrace all people, regardless of their background. We actually appreciate it when minorities participate,” he said.
It is not about organizational background or beliefs, what they look at is only the participant’s suitability to donate.
For example, donor participants must be physically and mentally fit, aged between 17 and 60 years, have their weight and blood pressure measured, and not have any chronic infectious diseases.
These conditions are what actually cause some applicants to be eliminated.
PMI Banjarnegara Public Relations M Alwan Rifai acknowledged the high enthusiasm of Ahmadiyah residents in donating.
Not only in Dukuh Krucil, his party also received requests for blood donation activities from the Ahmadiyah congregation in Kasmaran Village, Pagentan District, Banjarnegara.
In Banjarnegara, the Ahmadiyah congregation is spread across several villages and sub-districts, among the largest in Dukuh Krucil, Winong Village, Bawang District and Kasmaran Village, Pagentan District.
Just as enthusiastic as Krucil, the Ahmadiyah community in Kasmaran Village is also enthusiastic. From the Ahmadiyah congregations in these two villages, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) can bring back hundreds of blood bags at each blood collection.
Blood donations from the Ahmadiyah congregation are sufficient to meet the monthly blood needs of the Banjarnegara PMI, which is around 1,300 – 1,400 bags.
“We schedule blood donations every three months in the Ahmadiyah community ,” he said.Source:
