Indonesia: 100 Years of Ahmadiyya, a Century of Waiting for Freedom of Worship

The Ahmadiyah has been part of Indonesia for a century. Its footprint is evident throughout the archipelago, including its support for the republic's independence struggle. Its congregations have spread from Aceh to Papua and live side by side in a diverse society.

However, this history and contributions do not guarantee equal rights. Discrimination and persecution continue, as Ahmadis—the term for Ahmadiyah members—are accused of being heretical and not part of Islam. Ironically, the state perpetuates this injustice through discriminatory regulations and condoning repeated violence.
