A judge in Pakistan has handed a life sentence to an Ahmadi Muslim for possessing a copy of the Holy Qur’an, His Holiness said in his Friday Sermon today.

“Mr Mubarak Saani would recite and teach the Holy Qur’an to others. This is the state of the judiciary in the country. What hope of betterment can be expected from them? Even non-Ahmadis have criticised the absurdity of this decision. The radical clerics are celebrating and praising the judge, but many fair commentators have written that, ‘Is this such a crime, that he keeps a copy of the Holy Qur’an and teaches it to children?'”

His Holiness prayed that Allah hold the unjust accountable soon and urged the congregation to also pray that injustices everywhere may come to an end and peace may prevail.
