Ciremainews, Kuningan – A hearing between the Humanitarian Community Forum (FMPK) and the Kuningan Regent on Thursday (December 11, 2025) became heated. The FMPK accused the Kuningan Regency Government of allowing the Jalsah Salanah (Jalsah) of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Community (JAI) to proceed on December 5–7, 2025. In his statement, FMPK representative Ustadz Fitriyadi Siradj emphasized that their visit represented the community's concerns. "We come with the voice of the community, urging the government to firmly maintain religious order and public peace," he said. Tensions escalated when the Kuningan Regent stated that the Jalsah proceeded smoothly. This statement immediately sparked protests.
FMPK leader, Ustadz Luqman, viewed this attitude as a form of neglect. "The Regent said the activities were running smoothly. In fact, it was a form of neglect. Even though they didn't issue administrative permits, the activities continued," he asserted. FMPK believes the local government has sufficient legal basis to ban Ahmadiyah activities, including Presidential Decree No. 1/1965, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) fatwa, the 2008 Joint Decree of the Three Ministers, and West Java Gubernatorial Regulation No. 12/2011. Fitriyadi emphasized that the Jalsah Salanah is no ordinary event. "It's a forum for consolidating Ahmadiyah teachings. It's not just an annual gathering," he said. He said the event has the potential to cause social unrest if allowed to continue. "We don't hate the individuals, but their teachings disturb the peace of society," he continued. FMPK hopes the Regent will take firm action in accordance with the residents' aspirations. "With his legitimacy as the people's chosen Regent, we hope he will be a stronghold of faith, not a scapegoat for heretical sects," he said.
