Imam Wasin Ahmad Zafar, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Brazil, is in Maringá and will give a lecture on the True Teachings of Islam next Saturday, the 11th. The event, with free admission, will take place at 17 p.m. at the Goldmen Hotel, located at 2.516 Avenida Santos Dumont, in downtown Maringá.

The religious leader, who lives in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, travels throughout Brazil on a mission to spread the message of peace of Islam and Ahmadiyya and to eliminate prejudices surrounding religion in the West, also developing humanitarian projects in partnership with municipal, state and federal governments and entities.

The Imam has been in Paraná for the past few days, meeting with religious leaders and giving lectures. Last week, he was in Londrina, and since the beginning of this week, he’s been in Maringá.

The Ahmadiyya Community in Brazil is headquartered in Petrópolis, where it maintains the Baitul Awal Mosque and a library with works translated into more than 70 languages.

Imam Wasin Ahmad Zafar was born in Pakistan and is 66 years old, having spent 30 of those years in Brazil. He is also the Chief Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Brazil.

Zafar completed his higher education in theology at Jamia Ahmadiyya, the missionary training institute of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, in a seven-year program. He then dedicated his life entirely to the service of God.
