KBR68H, Jakarta – The An Nasir Mosque belonging to the Ahmadiyah Neglasari in Sukadana village, Campaka, Cianjur Regency, was forcibly closed by six local clerics. The clerics claimed to be representatives of the Ciajur, West Java, Coordinating Body for Supervision of Community Beliefs (Bakorpakem). Firmansyah, a Cianjur Ahmadiyah administrator, stated that the closure was not prevented by local police. Although present, the police claimed they were only tasked with monitoring the mosque.

“Yesterday, I also asked the police chief. The police chief only said I was just patrolling, then he said this was just a sealing repair, which had been carried out by Bakorpakem. So, the one who did this was Bakorpakem through the six ustads because, if I’m not mistaken, these six people were given a decree by Bakorpakem as mentors in Sukadana Village,” said Firmansyah to KBR68H when contacted.

Cianjur Ahmadiyah administrator, Firmansyah, added that the Neglasari Ahmadiyah congregation had only been using the mosque since the beginning of July.

Last April, the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), with the support of Bakorpakem (the Indonesian Military Coordination Agency) and the police, closed three Ahmadiyah mosques in the area. Initially, the police denied any involvement, claiming it was a unilateral action by the FPI, merely to protect against the risk of further violence. However, information gathered suggests Bakorpakem was behind the April action.
