The Ramadan packages and cash grants are expected to provide immediate relief to beneficiaries, enabling them to observe the holy month with dignity and ease.
Over 15,000 less privileged women, youths, and vulnerable individuals in Edu, Moro, and Pategi local government areas of Kwara State have benefited from a N30 million Ramadan package and cash grant initiative aimed at alleviating economic hardship during the holy month.
The distribution exercise, organised by the Member representing Edu/Moro and Pategi Federal Constituency, Ahmed Adamu-Saba, provided essential food items and financial support to beneficiaries across the three LGAs.
Speaking at the event, Adamu-Saba emphasised that the initiative was designed to support grassroots communities in light of current economic challenges.
“This programme is aimed at easing the suffering of our people, especially during this sacred month of Ramadan. The economic realities we face today necessitate such interventions to support those in need,” he said.
Adamu-Saba added that the assistance was distributed without regard to political, religious, or ethnic affiliations, ensuring inclusivity and fairness. He also revealed that an additional N10 million has been earmarked to support individuals who were not captured in the initial phase of the distribution.
In his remarks, Alhaji Mohammed Kudu-Dumagi, speaking on behalf of community leaders in Edu, Moro, and Pategi Federal Constituency, commended Adamu-Saba for the gesture. He called on other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the initiative to help reduce the hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians.
