Parepare, (Ministry of Religion of Parepare) – The Ujung District KUA held a Coordination Meeting attended by the Head of KUA, Registrar, Counselors and all Executive Staff on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

The meeting was held to follow up on the Data Request Letter from the Head of the Parepare City Ministry of Religion Office Number B-262/KK.21.16/6/BA.00/3/2025 dated March 5, 2025 regarding the request for data on monitoring and supervision of the Ahmadiyah congregation as a follow-up to the Letter from the Parepare City District Attorney’s Office Number B-414/P.4.11/Dsb.2/02/2025 dated February 27, 2025 regarding the request for data regarding the activities of the Ahmadiyah Congregation.

Based on the letter, it is suspected that the Ahmadiyah sect has re-emerged in Parepare City, especially in Ujung District, so that follow-up action is needed to discuss the steps to be taken regarding this matter.

In the meeting, Extension Worker, Zainal Abidin acted as a moderator. In addition to guiding the meeting, he also provided an overview of strategies that could be carried out to follow up on the letter from the Parepare City Ministry of Religion. These strategies include concrete steps to record and monitor the activities of the Ahmadiyah sect.

In his speech, the Head of KUA Ujung, Sabrullah, gave direction on the legal basis for the implementation of the data collection. “There are two letters as a legal basis, namely a letter from the Parepare City District Attorney’s Office and a letter from the Head of the Parepare City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office. This shows the importance of the steps taken in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” he said.

In the meeting, strategies for conducting data collection were also discussed, including the division of zones for each officer. Each officer will have certain responsibilities in identifying the name of the institution, location of the activity, type of activity, number of pilgrims, and so on. This division of tasks is expected to facilitate the data collection and supervision process.

The meeting participants appeared enthusiastic and committed to supporting the implementation of this data collection program. They actively discussed and provided constructive input to improve the planned strategy. This shows the enthusiasm and dedication of KUA employees in maintaining order and tranquility in their area.

With this coordination meeting, it is expected that the steps taken can run smoothly and provide maximum results. Accurate and detailed data collection will help authorities in making the right decisions regarding the re-emergence of the Ahmadiyah sect in Ujung District. (Ali)
