Hoisting of Ahmadiyya Flag at Brampton City Hall



In 2023, Mayor Patrick Brown declared July as Ahmadiyya Muslim Heritage Month, recognizing and honoring the contributions of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat to the community. This year marks the second celebration of Ahmadiyya Heritage Month, highlighted by the Ahmadiyya Flag hoisting ceremony at Brampton City Hall. The ceremony embodies the Canadian values of multiculturalism, freedom of religion, and diversity.

The event commenced with the Friday Prayer, held inside Brampton City Hall, followed by the Ahmadiyya Flag hoisting on the premises. The ceremony featured:

  • Recitation of the Holy Quran
  • Introduction of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, outlining the history, beliefs, and contributions of the community.
  • Introduction of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, showcasing their commendable works, including:
    • Blood Donations: Over 800 blood donations in the previous year.
    • Food Donations: Donation of more than one million pounds of food to food banks.
    • Model Home Sponsorship: Sponsorship of one model home annually in Africa.
    • COVID-19 Neighborhood Campaigns: Special initiatives to support the community during the pandemic.
