Conflict over the construction of Ahmadiyya places of worship in Semambung-Sidoarjo village
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is an Islamic movement founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in 1889 AD which coincided with the Islamic year in 1306 H in Qadian India. Ahmadiyya is a group, association or organization that has the same goal as Islam. Ahmadiyah is taken from one of the names of Rasulullah SAW, which was told to Prophet Isa which itself is written in the Al-Qur'an letter Ash Shaf verse 6 which in the letter states that a prophet and apostle named Ahmad will appear. The Ahmadiyya Congregation founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad has spread widely to various parts of the country, and has expanded as an international movement. This congregation has spread and entered Indonesia since October 2, 1925.
The potential for the spread of the Ahmadiyya congregation in Indonesia itself is very wide. Because since its inception until now it has succeeded in growing and expanding throughout all provinces in Indonesia, this has been proven since 1932. This Jamaat has succeeded in spreading to various regions, which currently has 181 branches which are spread across all provinces in Indonesia. . In its development, the Ahmadiyya Congregation movement often encounters opposition or rejection and even attacks by local residents who are considered to be a group that spreads disbelief. Even though there are also scholars who still respect or appreciate the importance of tolerance between religious communities as Muslim brothers, they still respect it as if they only have different schools of thought within Islam. In connection with the expansion of the Ahmadiyya Congregation in Indonesian territory, in the Semambung Village area, Sidoarjo appeared in 1995 M. The appearance of the Ahmadiyya in Sidoarjo was a da'wah struggle from preachers and people who were willing to fight for the Ahmadiyya Congregation. The establishment of the Ahmadiyah Congregation is a process that pays close attention to how the ideas of the Islamic movement adopted from the thoughts of a Mirza Ghulam Ahmad can be accepted in the Semambung village community, Sidoarjo. Therefore the Ahmadiyya Congregation wanted to build a place of worship in Semambung village and asked for approval from the local residents. However, it is very unfortunate that there are parties who are irresponsible and do not like the construction of the place of worship because the Ahmadiya sect is thought to be a sect that has an infidel ideology. to the extent that the place of worship is stoned and will be burned. In the end, the apparatus participated in the problem and reconciled the conflict so that there would be no serious riots. finally the Semambung village leaders explained the importance of us as Muslim brothers who only have different schools of thought and in Indonesia place great emphasis on the value of tolerance between religious communities.
