National Amir of the Indonesian National Ahmadiyah Congregation Dies

09 Oct 2022, Jakarta Spokesperson and Press Secretary of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation (JAI) Yendra Budiana said JAI National Amir Maulana H Abdul Basit had passed away on Saturday 8 October 2022 at 15:10 WIB at Sentosa Hospital, Bogor, West Java.

“The deceased was born in Bandung, April 16, 1951 and died in Bogor, October 8, 2022 at the age of 71 years,” he said in a press release quoted on Sunday (9/10/2022).

Yendra said the deceased served as the National Amir of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation for 21 years, from July 1, 2001 until his death, Saturday, October 8, 2022.

He also emphasized that the Executive Board of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation would like to express its highest appreciation for all the service to his body and soul who has been tireless for 21 years of leading JAI  with full composure, passing all tests and challenges with a smile.

“And continue to encourage the sons and daughters of Ahmadi Indonesia to give the best contribution to the nation and country, Indonesia,” said Yendra.

“On behalf of all the management and members of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation, we express our deepest condolences and loss for his passing and pray that the deceased will be placed in the best place by Allah SWT,” he concluded.
