Do we need God to be good?

That is the question posed by the World Religions Conference coming up this month at the Vernon Recreation Centre.

The conference will host speakers from nine different religions and will be moderated by Chief Byron Louis of the Okanagan Indian Band.

It takes place Nov. 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Admission is free, and there is also a free East Indian dinner afterwards.

The event will be streamed live on YouTube. Register here.

Louis will provide an Indigenous perspective and moderate the discussion.

Other representatives include:

  • Senior Pastor Randy Hamm (Baptist Church)
  • Susan Shawlee (Chevra Chadisha leader)
  • Maulana Umran Bhatti (missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and Imam of the Baitur Rehman Mosque in Delta)
  • Paul England (Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints)
  • Kelowna Coun. Mohini Singh (Hindu faith)
  • Mike Boudreau (Buddhist perspective)
