Ahmadiyya Muslim Community joins Universal Peace Federation USA’s 49th Interfaith Prayer for the Nation & World event

Universal Peace Federation USA held their 49th Interfaith Prayer for the Nation and the World meeting via Zoom on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM EST.

45 members attended this meeting and it was also broadcast live via Facebook.

Archbishop George A. Stallings moderated the session.

After introductions and welcome, Mr. Stallings introduced Cantor Ruth Berman Harris of Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center.

Ms. Harris spoke about freedom and connection to God.

Mrs. Jennie Preece of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints spoke about Mercy and Forgiveness.

Mrs. Karla Bartholomew of Church of Scientology of Pasadena spoke about various humanitarian programs and highlighted the involvement of interfaith leaders in such initiatives. She also gave a brief introduction of the Church of Scientology and read the creed of the Church of Scientology.

Archbishop Stallings introduced Shamshad Ahmad Nasir, Missionary of the Midwest Region of the worldwide Ahmadiyyat Muslim Community recognizing his extensive efforts in building bridges between Islam and other religions.

Missionary Shamshad Ahmad Nasir started his remarks with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and some prayers of the Holy prophet Muhammad peace be on him, with its translations. He gave a brief introduction of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and its founder, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the Promised Messiah and spoke about the teachings of Promised Messiah peace be on him, which were recently published in The New Yark Times Sunday 21st Feb on page 11, with the title “ words of Healing from the Promised Messiah, in which he said:

Belief in ONE God without any associate and have sympathy upon God’s creatures and be of good conduct and think no ill. Be such that no disorderliness or mischief should approach your heart. Utter no falsehood, invent no lies, and cause no hurt to anyone, whether by your tongue or your hands. Avoid all manner of sin and restrain your passions. Try to become pure- hearted, without vice. It should be your principal to have sympathy for all human beings.

Imam shamshad also read the advice of His holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad the 5th and current Caliph of the promised Messiah: “ You love your creator when you love His creation. If everybody remembers and practices (this teachings) there will not be any enmity in anyone’s heart. Their heart will be clear of vindictiveness. That is how you create peace in the world.”

Imam shamshad also asked all faith leaders to follow their own religion and they will find truth in them to guid them to the right path.

In the end, Dr. Michael Jenkins. President, Universal Peace Federation spoke about his various interfaith experiences.

Tomiko Duggan of Universal Peace Federation ended the session by thanking all the faith leaders.
