USA: Ahmadiyya Muslim community Midwest holds Annual Tarbiyati Program

Detroit Jama’at held its 2020-year end two-day tarbiyat program on Friday December 25 and Saturday Dec 26, 2020. This year, the program was conducted virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Detroit, Dayton, and Columbus Chapters participated in the program making this a regional program for the Midwest region.

The Tarbiyat program is a continuation of the tradition from the prior years and was organized by a team that included Murabee Shamshad Nasir, Sadr Jama’at Maqbool Tahir, Secretary Tarbiyyat Azhar Ahmad along with president sahiban from Dayton and Columbus Jama’ats, auxiliary heads of Lajna, Khuddam and Ansar of all three chapters.

The two-day program is traditionally held in the Masjid Mahmood; however, the current year program was held virtually in conjunction with the Spiritual Fitness Camp. The purpose of both programs is to provide a platform for Tarbiyat matters as well as spiritual training for members of the community. Members from all auxiliaries participated to enhance their knowledge on a wide array of topics.

Program preparations started many weeks ahead of time. The preparations included program draft, selection of topics for speeches, speakers for various selected topics and overall program timeline. Many planning meetings were held via zoom to finalize the agenda and program logistics. The duration of the program was shortened this year due to the virtual nature.

This program was communicated with Jama’at members via multiple ways including announcement by Murabbi Shamshad Nasir during daily Dars, personal phone contacts by Tarbiyat Secretaries, Halqa Nigrans, auxiliary heads and reminders by presidents sahiban of the three chapters.

The program was kicked off on Friday, December 25th with Tahajjud prayer followed with Fajr prayer at home with families and listening of Khutba Jummah live on MTA by his holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad ( May Allah be his get) head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Opening session was started with recitation of the Holy Qur’an followed by translation, poem & translation. This session was joined by all auxiliaries. Maqbool Tahir Sahib, President Detroit Jama’at presided the opening session and delivered his opening remarks. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance and blessings of Khilafat.

Following the opening session, Atfal and Nasirat session was presided by Murabbi Atfal Detroit Jama’at Naeem Ahmad Sahib. The session started with recitation of holy Qur’an, translation, Atfal Pledge, Poem and translation followed by speeches from all three Jama’ats. Atfal and Nasirat equally participated in the session from all three Jama’ats. Various tarbiyat topics were covered including Blessings of Jama’at, Importance of daily prayers, Existence of God, Virtual school, Status of man and woman in Islam, Importance of writing a letter to Beloved Huzoor and Qualities of an exemplary Ahmadi child. At the end Murabbi Shamshad Nasir summarized the Friday Sermon of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) delivered on 12/25/2020. Murabee sahib also provided some pieces of advice to the children regarding the etiquettes of speeches during jama’at programs. The session was concluded with final remarks and announcement for the second day’s program. Overall, the program has a particularly good attendance and participation with over 129 families in attendance.

The second day’s session was kicked with Tahajjud prayers followed with Fajr prayer. Lajna from all three Jama’ats conducted their one-hour session where Nasirat also joined them. This session was started with recitation of the Holy Quran, translation, Lajna pledge, poem and translation. This was followed by speeches of various topics that included acceptance of prayers, challenges of life and Allah’s love, expectations from a lajna, I am a woman of promise, I can win a Nobel Prize, Blessings of financial sacrifice and importance of purdah. This session was presided by Sadr sahiba Lajna Detroit Jama’at and concluded with Sadr sahiba Lajna Detroit’s remarks. According to Sadr sahiba Lajna report, more than 150 Lajna and Nasirat joined this session.

After Isha prayer, a combined session was conducted. This session was joined by all auxiliaries. The session was started with recitation of the Holy Quran, translation, Ansar Pledge followed by poem and translation. In this session, the speeches included Acceptance of prayers by Muhammad Ahmad sahib, Secretary Tabligh Detroit Jama’at, Challenges of life and Allah’s love by Ata Ilahi sahib of Detroit Jama’at, Expectations from a Nasir by General Secretary of Dayton Jama’at Zaki Ahmad sahib, Expectations from a Khadim by Hassan Syed sahib of Columbus Jama’at, Prayers and Efforts by Secretary Tarbiyat Columbus Jama’at Javed Yameen Malik sahib, and Early Marriage – parents’ responsibility by Mansoor Qureshi sahib of Detroit Jama’at. Khuddam and Ansar from all three Jama’ats attended the session. This session was presided over by Faheem Rana Sahib of Detroit Jama’at. More than 120 families attended this session.

The Final session started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, translation, and poem. The session was presided by Respected Ameer Sahib USA, Mirza Maghfoor Ahmad Sahib. Murrabi Shamshad Nasir sahib welcomed Ameer sahib and introduce him about the Terbiyyat program.

Following this, Secretary Tarbiyyat Detroit Jama’at, Azhar Ahmad sahib presented the program’s report to respected Ameer sahib.

Following the report, respected Ameer sahib delivered a very motivating and thought provoking speech related to Tarbiyyat matters highlighting why it is so important to hold such kinds of programs on an ongoing basis and participation by all Jama’at members. He advised parents to bring up their children and give them good training right from the childhood according to the teachings of Islam and sunnah of the Holy prophet Muhammad peace be on him. When parents do not put any efforts to attach themselves and their children to the system of the Jama’at and Khalifatul Masih, such negligence can bring loss of any child for his parents.

Ameer sahib provided many valuable pieces of wisdom and advice from the writings of Hazrat Massieh Moud peace be on him about Taqwa and supplications, and prayed that May Allah help all of us to be the true followers of the Imam of the age and that we all become the recipients of the Blessings by holding true to the teachings of the Promised Messiah (as). Ameen

At the end respected Ameer sahib concluded the two day program with silent prayers and thanked the organizers.

Respected Murabee Shamshad sahib thanked respected Ameer sahib for taking time from his busy schedule to join the members for the Tarbiyyat program.

Throughout the preparation and execution of the Tarbiyyat program, Murabi Shamshad Sahib provided his guidance along with presidents of the Detroit, Dayton, and Columbus chapters.

Later, President Columbus Jama’at, Rafi Malik sahib made announcements and program concluded around 8:30 PM

Secretary Tarbiyyat Detroit Jama’at worked hard for organizing the year end Tarbiyat program. He was supported by Tarbiyyat secretaries from Dayton and Columbus along with the auxiliary heads and Halqa Nigrans of all three chapters.

By the Grace of Allah, the program went well, and members participated and benefited from the program. Overall feedback was positive. Some of the feedback and comments are quoted below.

“Sadr Sahib and Sec Tarbiyat Sahib, Assalamo Alaikum, MashaAllah, it was a very good program today Alhamdolillah.”

Other members commented to Murrabi shamshad sahib “Assalamo Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh, It was in urdu and translation is “Yesterday’s Atfal and Nasirate program was very nice. Prayer for all those who worked for this program. Your guidance is highly appreciated. May Allah bless all. Ameen”
