Sierra Leone Sports: Ahmadiyya wins female volleyball competition
One of the best schools when it comes to sporting activities came on very strong to win this year’s female volleyball competition for senior schools. In the first match it was a win for Ahmadiyya 25-12 the second match saw Government Model coming on very strong to level the score by winning the second match 25-23. The third match that should determine the champion was a best of 15 which was won by Ahmadiyya.
One of the PHE teachers of Ahmadiyya Secondary school, Amidu F. Koroma, said they are very happy for the win because they are not in the final of the football match so this one will give them courage that all is not lost. The captain of Ahmadiyya secondary School volleyball team, Hawanatu A. Bangura, said she is going to handover the trophy to the principal of the school. In the third place match for girls it was a win for Congress as they defeated Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood by 2-1. In the first match it was a win for Congress they won by 15-12 and the second match was a win for Muslim Brotherhood 15-11 and the final match was a win for Congress 15-13. Emmanuel Kargbo, who has been following the competition, said the schools in the Eastern part of the city have dominated the volleyball competition by winning the first and third position.
