Islamabad: Imran Khan’s ex-British wife Jemima Khan on Thursday congratulated him by declaring the cricketer-turned-politician as Pakistan’s next Prime Minister even before the announcement of the official results.

The 65-year-old former cricketer’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is inching closer to win the country’s general elections held yesterday, amid charges of rigging by rival political parties. The part was ahead in 120 of 272 contested National Assembly constituencies, while its main rival Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was way behind with 65 seats.

Jemima, 44, who earlier prayed for his success praised Khan in a series of tweets, saying father of her two sons will be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.

?”I remember IK’s 1st election in 1997- untested, idealistic & politically naive. I waited up for the call in LHR (Lahore) with 3 mo(nth)-old Sulaiman, who I had lugged around the country. Eventually he called. “It’s a clean sweep” & after my gasp, ” the other way.” He roared with laughter”

“22 years later, after humiliations, hurdles and sacrifices, my sons’ father is Pakistan’s next PM. It’s an incredible lesson in tenacity, belief & refusal to accept defeat. The challenge now is to remember why he entered politics in the 1st place. Congratulations.”

Jemima who has strong link with Pakistan from her marriage days to her two sons Suliaman Isa Khan and Qasi Khan took keen interest in elections.

“Happy Election Day Pakistan, you maddening, beautiful, crazy, beloved old friend.

Here’s hoping the people who count your votes, let your vote count. And you get the leader you believe in. Pakistan Zindabad!” she said in an earlier tweet yesterday.
Khan married young Jemima in 1995 but both separated in 2005 and Jemima went back from Lahore to live in London.

However, both have maintained friendly links due to bondage of their sons who live in London. Last year, she came to Khan’s help when he faced legal battle related to Bani Gala estate in suburbs of Islamabad.

She provided copies of old transaction to provide details of money trial to purchase the property when they were married.

Currently, Khan is married to Bushra Maneka, a leading scholar and spiritual guide in the mystic Sufi branch of Islam in February after two failed marriages.

After divorce from British heiress Jemima, he got married to former BBC presenter Reham Khan who was also British. But their relationship fell apart after 10 months in 2015 with Reham later accusing Imran of being bisexual, taking hard drugs and adultery in her recent book.

  1. Reblogged this on Progressive Islam. and commented:
Congratulation Imran Khan may Allah bless you and your people.
The big problem in almost Islamic country are, FIRST is corruption, most Oslamic leaders are corruptor and has caused poverty and destroy trust on government. SECOND is the Extremist Islamic scholars who want to impose Islamic laws and creste conflict. BOTH are dangerous elements . As long as there is no stability if there is no Peace. Now There are many extremist Islamic groups who create conflict. The extremist Muslim still kill Innocent people to day!!This is a huge problem in Pakistan.

    My opinion
As long as the extremist Islamic groups do not give up to create Islamic state and impose syariah laws to others— there is no Peace in Pakistan. This is the big challenge with new Priminister Imran Khan.

    Because of Syrick.
    1. Those Muslim who worship IDOL-Hadith
    2. Those Muslim who cry and kiss the STONE Kaaba and Asward
    3. Those Muslim who mention the name of Prophet in Shalat
    4. Those Muslim who perform Shalat Taraweeh
That is why Allah has been punishing million Muslim in Middle East severely because thay are commiting Syrick for long time, beside that most Muslim
leaders and clerics are hypocrites, corruption and abuse the name of Islam.

From my view, Islamic teaching should be corrected otherwise there is no peace!

    Was Salam ❤️

    • Yes, corruption is the big challenge.

Hadith? Just follow the correct way the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at teaches you: No hadith can contradict the Quran !
Kaaba: Mainly this is in the head of Somi. All Muslims I know do NOT worship the black stone.
Mention Prophet in Salat: ? You must be joking. To seek Allah’s blessings on His prophet is a good thing! Again, we do not worship Mohammad but we do say ‘may Allah’s blessings be on him’.
To say Tarawee??? How can voluntary prayers be harmful. Poor Somi, you have a crooked mind.
Yes, Allah may be punishing the world for their corruption, and for the wrong use of hadith, but definitely not for voluntary prayers nor for seeking Allah’s blessings on his prophets.

  2. Dear Rafiq—
Mention Prophet in Salat: ? You must be joking. To seek Allah’s blessings on His prophet is a good thing! Again, we do not worship Mohammad but we do say ‘may Allah’s blessings be on him’.===

    1. You can say it after you finish worship Allah alone, never associate Him with prophets in Shalat— it is simple..

    2. You do not need pray repeatly the same Duo— Allah already know what you will say in your heart. Allah condenm to add His rule. Allah is the most knowing.

    3. The Kaaba is not the House of Allah— Kaaba is created by men— there is no special stones— why do you kiss and cry at Kaaba???

If you do not do it, you avoid sinful sinful syrick— it is a good thing. Right?

I just remind you all, not impose any body.
I love you all that is why I remind you.
    All love ❤️
