They say the calls, made five times a day, have been disturbing residents of the Nyarugenge district, home to the capital’s biggest mosques.

But an official from a Muslim association criticised it, saying they could instead keep the volume down.

Some 1,500 churches have been closed for not complying with building regulations and noise pollution.

I agree 100 percent to ban the loudspeaker 5 times a day or more. Islamic teaching is a peaceful teaching, do not to disturb other people while sleeping, studying or other activities.

Islamic clerics should spread Islam or perform Islam wisely and properly. We live to day in digital technology, Most every one has smart phone to remind people to pray.

Clerics do not need to follow the sunnah at 15 century ago.
Young educated Muslim should remind your clerics who still follow the old lifestyle.

    • The call to prayers is so beautiful that I love to hear it. Why should anyone be ‘offended’ when there is a call to peacefully pray?

      • You know that Raffiq, there are good and bad people in this world— and also there are many religion—each other want to influence others— our prophet Muhammad tell us in Al Quran how to spread Islam — be wise— be kind—dont disturb others with our religion.

Most Muslim want to show off their performent to public- it is not propher and wise.

      • If someone is offended by the beautiful voice of the call to prayers – he needs to go to a psychiatrist.
