No fewer than 35, 000 Muslim faithful recently gathered at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria 65th Islamic Conference, Jalsa Salana, to chart path to resuscitating the moral values and reverse the negative trend through proper orientation.

The three-day event featured academic awards given to 37 deserving males and females in various disciplines. 5 PhD holders, 11 Master’s Degrees, 19 First Degrees and 2 A’ Level holders and marriage solemnization for about 20 couples.

The Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Nigeria, Dr Mashhud Adenrele Fashola, challenged the religious and political leaders in the world to respect and practice the commandments of God in governance and justice administration.

“No human efforts or activities of any government agency or world leaders can solve the quagmire, rather all leaders and followers must imbibe the divine teachings, commandments and laws with a view to living in peaceful and just society”.

Fashola, said it is until man reforms himself, Allah’s blessings and mercy would continue to desert him, stressing the need for justice to prevail in interactions with other people so that their perceptions about Islam can change totally.
