Baltimore –

An open discussion to unite people against hatred.  All faiths and races gather for nearly two hours Sunday to talk about how the nation feels after the divisive presidential election.
The meeting had a simple message, inclusion.
Religious leaders from many denominations including Islam, Judaism and Christianity led the open discussion.
The hope was for an open and honest discussion without judgment.
“The message is the same.  It’s from the same god –love for all and hatred for none,” Mansoor Shams of The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, told ABC2.
That message was the reason behind Sunday’s event “Faiths Unite Against Hatred-Our Reaction To The Presidential Election.”
This inter-faith gathering was organized for all people of all races and religions to have an open conversation about one of the most polarizing elections of our time.
“Since this election has taken place, there’s been a lot of protests on the streets there’s been a lot of divisiveness a lot of worry  a lot of concern so we thought that as faith believing people that it would important to gather everyone together,” Shams said.
There were discussions about race, politics and prejudice.
“There’s obviously a very clear situation right now where there has been a lot of negativity but America has spoken, Americans chose Donald Trump to be president and our faith teaches us to obey those who are in authority,” said Shams.
He goes on to say peace is the number one goal, but some are worried about the country’s state.

  1. There is much apprehension among American Muslims . We have gone through this phase when Indians gave mandate in favour of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi . Being a Indian Muslim , I can say that it was merely apprehension . We give adhan five times daily , no one objects . We do all religious duties , no one bothers . We have every liberty to do tabligh . All government and private institutions are open for us . Yes , if someone thinks that ‘ throwing stones on police force is a part of religion , government does not accept this . If anyone considers that suicide bombers are doing a pious job , our government rejects and takes tough action . So I understand that American Muslims must come out from this fear- psyco. Religion is not a piece of territory which can be won . Religion is a personal relationship between an individual and his God . How can anyone break this relationship ? How can anyone ignore ” love for all , hatred for none ” ? Yes , this is the prime time to reject that ideology which issues fatwa e kufr and wajibul qatal . This is the only remedy .
