Peel Regional Police have confirmed that the bodies pulled from a Mississauga pond on Tuesday night are those of two missing Oakville brothers.

An autopsy conducted on the bodies of 22-year-old Hamza Khan and 20-year-old Shahruka Khan showed the pair drowned. Police say there were no other injuries.

Hamza and Shahruka Khan were last seen on Friday at a plaza near 10th Line and Thomas Street in Mississauga. They were dropped off by a friend at a gym in the plaza and spoke with another family member around 9:15 p.m., indicating they were going to be home shortly.

On Tuesday, police from both Halton and Peel regions were called to a man-made pond at Ninth Line and Thomas Street after reports a submerged vehicle was spotted. The car pulled from the water later that evening was the same silver BMW that belonged to the missing brothers. Their bodies were also recovered a short time later.

Peel police say they do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the incident.
