Calgarians will have a chance to visit a mosque on Sunday.
It’s part of a nationwide campaign for Canadians to learn and experience “the true and peaceful teachings of Islam” in an attempt to address misconceptions “that have crept into the minds of people due to the unfortunate behaviour of a fringe minority,” according to Lal Khan Malik, national president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’ at Canada.
Local chapters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’ will be hosting events at their mosques and prayer centres, and will also hold “meet and greets” with community leaders and members.
The Calgary event takes place at the Baitun Nur Mosque at 4353 54 Ave.
