Inspired by the ideas and life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), a Hindu man decided to write the first-ever biography of Islam’s Prophet in Marwari, a regional language in Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region.
“When I was a kid, our teachers would tell us to read books as part of our course. Since those days I spent a lot of time reading. I read Muhammad’s biography too and I thought that I should write about this amazing personality,” Rajeev Sharma was quoted in various Indian websites.
Sharma was born in 1987, in Kolasiya, a village in Jhunjhunu of Rajasthan. He started his own library in his village when he was in 9th standard. Muslim Mirror reported.
Being a good reader, he got the chance to read the biography of Prophet Muhammad whose ideas and life had a great impact of Sharma who decided to translate it into Marwari.
“I didn’t consider religion to be a big deal here. If we think about our past, all religions would live with mutual harmony. It is recently that the intolerance levels have increased,” Sharma was quoted as saying.
Sharma claims that his book, Paigambar Ro Paigam, represents the first original biography about the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in “Marwari.”
The 112-page biography the first in Marwari is available at “Ganv Ka Gurukul”, an e-version of a library established by Sharma when he was barely in his 9th grade in his village Kosiya.
