This is our Jihad! This is our way of responding to allegations against Islam. The Islamic Way! Without violence and terror!
By Dr Amtul Qudoos Farhat

The current situation in the Middle East is deplorable. New militant organizations have emerged that are terrorising innocent civilians. Most heinous crimes against humanity are being perpetrated in the name of Islam and by creating a so called Khilafat. Terror has struck closer to home in which an innocent life was in the vicinity of the Parliament Hill. Our hearts grieve to see that many people ascribe theses atrocities to teachings of Islam.
In light of the above, Ahmadi Muslims across Canada have started a campaign to raise their voice and tell the truth about the peaceful teachings of Islam.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat under the leadership of Lal Khan Malik, the National President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Canada, will hold immediately Inter-faith events, seminars, open houses, Q&A Sessions, exhibitions, book stalls and all other means of attracting attention to educate the public, press and media on the above points. The campaign will continue till mid December 2014.
These events will take place in local libraries, community centers and various public places in every part of Canada.
The truth about Teachings of Islam in light of its Scripture; the Holy Qur’an:
1. Killing of innocents is not Islam
We prescribed for the children of Israel that whosoever killed a person — unless it be for killing a person or for creating disorder in the land — it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and whoso gave life to one, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind. And Our Messengers came to them with clear Signs, yet even after that, many of them commit excesses in the land. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 5 Verse 33)
2. Terrorizing minorities is not Islam
[60:9] Allah forbids you not, respecting those who have not fought against you on account of your religion, and who have not driven you forth from your homes, that you be kind to them and act equitably towards them; surely Allah loves those who are equitable. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 60 Verse 09)
Allah only forbids you, respecting those who have fought against you on account of your religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and have helped others in driving you out, that you make friends of them, and whosoever makes friends of them — it is these that are the transgressors. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 60 Verse 10)
3. Demolishing places of worship is not Islam
Islam respects other religions and prohibits any violation of non-Muslims’ places of worship. Almighty Allah says:
‘(22:41) And if Allah did not repel some men by means of others, there would surely have been pulled down cloisters and churches and synagogues and mosques, wherein the name of Allah is oft commemorated. And Allah will surely help one who helps Him. Allah is indeed Powerful, Mighty. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 22 Verse 41)
4. Islam gives detailed commandments re sanctity of human life, honour and property
[17:34] And kill not the soul which Allah has forbidden save for just cause. And whoso is killed wrongfully, We have surely given his heir authority to demand retaliation, but let him not exceed the prescribed bounds in slaying; for therein he is helped by law. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 17 Verse 34)
Would you then, if you are placed in authority, create disorder in the land and sever your ties of kinship? (Al-Qur’an Chapter 475 Verse 32)
O ye who believe! be steadfast in the cause of Allah, bearing witness in equity; and let not a people’s enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just, that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Surely, Allah is aware of what you do. (Al-Quran Chapter 5 Verse 09)
And when he is in authority, he runs about in the land to create disorder in it and destroy the crops and the progeny of man; and Allah loves not disorder. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 2 Verse 206)
5. There is no compulsion in religion
There should be no compulsion in religion. Surely, right has become distinct from wrong; so whosoever refuses to be led by those who transgress, and believes in Allah, has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 2 Verse 257)
Thou hast no authority to compel them. (Al-Qur’an Chapter 88 Verse 23)
6. Time for religious wars is over; now is the time for Jihad with pen
7. Loyalty to country is part of faith
In Islam the concept of loyalty is clear and simple. In the Holy Qur’an, it is to ‘…obey those who are in authority over you…’
O ye who believe! obey Allah, and obey His Messenger and those who are in authority among you. . (Al-Qur’an Chapter 4 Verse 60)
While the Holy Prophet of Islam, advocated that;
…Obedience to the law of the land is a part of faith.
8. Islam’s teaching is summarized in “Love for all; Hatred for none”
