Once again, there has been a mass murder of Hazaras on the outskirts of Quetta. They were all Shia and were travelling on a bus to buy vegetables for their beleaguered community. The bus was not escorted at the time, and there is a report that an escort had not been requested. When there are newsletters circulating, inciting the killing of people belonging to different sects, and rallies held where crowds are exhorted to do the same, it is small wonder that the killings continue and are increasing. Nobody is ever arrested, charged and brought to court for murdering Hazaras. There is no attempt by law-enforcement agencies to halt, or otherwise interdict, the toxic rallies, nor any attempt to arrest those who deliver the inflammatory speeches and sing their murderous songs. Nobody has bothered to trace the printers of the newsletters or shut down their presses. The Quetta Hazaras live in a fortified ghetto.
