I attended an interesting lunch event this week with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as they seek to develop closer ties with some charities in Battersea.
They are one of the oldest Muslim communities in the UK – established over here in 1913. They built the first mosque in London in 1924, where it remains today capable of accommodating over 15,000 worshipers in one go!

They are an international movement which focuses “to exert a constructive influence of Islam through social projects, educational institutes, health services, Islamic publications and construction of mosques”.
Their message of “Love for All, Hatred for None” is well documented.
As is their charitable work, notably in Africa. The Morden-based mosque raised a fantastic £750K last year for various charities and community groups.
KLS is a non-religious and a non-politically aligned charity. We will work with everyone, as appropriate. I look forward to exploring how we might work more closely with the Ahmadiyya Community.
