20 Tunda Island Residents Allegedly Follow the Ahmadiyah

SERANG, RADARBANTEN.CO.ID – As many as 20 residents of Tunda Island, Wargasara Village, Tirtayasa District, Serang Regency, are suspected of being followers of the Ahmadiyah sect.

They were influenced by these teachings from five residents from outside the area who often came to Tunda Island to spread this teaching.

Wargasara Village Secretary (Sekdes), Nanang Kosim, said that there were five residents from outside the area who had often visited Tunda Island over the past year. Later it was discovered that they were spreading Ahmadiyah teachings to the residents there.

“They have been around for almost a year, they come from outside the region, some from Tangerang, Bogor, when they come they are uncertain, sometimes once every two months, sometimes once a month,” he said when contacted by telephone, Tuesday, April 23 2024.

He said that there were around 20 people from five heads of families (KK) residents of Tunda Island who were suspected of having become Ahmadiyah followers. In fact, during the month of Ramadan, their followers were taken to Tangerang and Bogor.

“We have shown that we are Ahmadiyah, before fasting, the people recruited here were taken to Tangerang to Bogor. “There are around five families who are followers of Ahmadiyah, around 20 people,” he explained.

He admitted that the residents on Tunda Island were initially not suspicious of the activities of the five residents. However, residents then began to become concerned about the presence of people who spread this sect during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Where, they and 20 other Ahmadiyah members actually held Eid al-Fitr prayers at one of the congregation’s houses on Tunda Island.

“Yesterday’s case was that during Eid al-Fitr they made their own Eid prayers at the house of one of their followers, so the community started to worry from then on. “There are people who know the information, people are anxious,” he stressed.

He admitted that he had summoned and held discussions with five people who were spreading the Ahmadiyya sect. His party has asked them not to come back to Tunda Island again.

“The process is that the administrators are summoned, in front of the village office, the Ahmadiyah administrators are summoned to Tangerang or Bogor, asked not to return to Tunda Island, there will be no violence. Thank God he came home. “Meanwhile, residents here who are followers remain here,” he concluded. (*)
