FDKI UIN Siber Cirebon Students Participate in the ‘Inter-Campus and Inter-Faith Student Meeting’ Forum in Bogor

The ‘Cross-Campus & Cross-Faith Student Meeting’  forum was held by the Paramadina Center for Religion and Philosophy (PCRP) of Paramadina University together with the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation, Monday (11/5/2026), at the Mubarak Campus, Jalan Raya Parung, Bogor.

KABARCIREBON – The spirit of tolerance, religious moderation, and peace education echoed in the ‘Cross-Campus & Cross-Faith Student Meeting’ activity held by the Paramadina Center for Religion and Philosophy (PCRP) of Paramadina University together with the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation, Monday (11/5/2026), at the Mubarak Campus, Jalan Raya Parung, Bogor.

The activity, which carried the theme “Interfaith Dialogue as a Peace Education Strategy in Higher Education,” presented students from various universities, namely the Faculty of Islamic Da’wah and Communication (FDKI) UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, the Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Paramadina University Jakarta, and students from the Mubarak Bogor Campus as the host.

A total of 160 students and 12 chaperones attended the event. From FDKI UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon itself, 40 students were also present along with three chaperones, namely Dr. Jaja Suteja, M.Pd.I. as Deputy Dean II of FDKI, Musyahwi, M.Socio. as Head of the Department of Religious Studies, and Nur Laeli Khikmawati, M.Ant. as Secretary of the Department of Religious Studies.

The Director of PCRP Paramadina University, Dr. Budhy Munawwar Rahman, in his remarks emphasized that this activity was not aimed at equalizing beliefs or faith, but rather strengthening tolerance and maintaining national morals amidst Indonesia’s diversity. “We may have different scriptures, but our human wounds are the same. Students must be bridges, not walls,”

Budhy Munawwar Rahman emphasized to the forum participants. He believes that universities have a strategic role in building healthy, inclusive, and peaceful dialogue spaces amidst the challenges of social polarization and the rise of religious-based hate speech in the digital space

One of the highlights of this event was the active involvement of FDKI students from UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The intercampus and interfaith dialogue session was moderated by Ghaziya Miladiyah Khaerunnisa, a student at FDKI UINSSC Cirebon. During the session, students from the four campuses shared experiences related to the practice of tolerance, religious moderation, and efforts to build spaces for dialogue on their respective campuses.Islam

The discussion was lively and filled with a spirit of togetherness. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening religious literacy, fostering interfaith communication, and providing  education that prioritizes universal humanitarian values.

Banten News During a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session led by Aniq HT from PCRP, participants were invited to identify various social issues often perpetrated in the name of religion. Some of the issues raised included hate speech on social media, religious radicalism, extremism, the politicization of verses during elections, and negative stigma between religious organizations. The discussion concluded that one of the root causes of the problem stems from low religious literacy, which is not balanced by moderate understanding and open dialogue.

Forum & Chat Organizer “The root is one, namely low religious literacy but high passion,” said one of the FGD participants. From the discussion, the Commitment to Love 4 Campuses was born, which contains three important points: rejecting hate speech in the name of religion, prioritizing tabayyun before disseminating information, and building collaborative humanitarian actions without religious barriers.

The event concluded with a creative performance by students from four universities. Various performances, including national songs, poetry readings, and stand-up comedy, enlivened the atmosphere and strengthened bonds between students from different campuses and faiths.

The National Amir of the Ahmadiyah Jamaat Mubarak Campus, Zaki Firdaus Syahid, ST, MT, appreciated the activity as a concrete manifestation of the implementation of religious moderation among the younger generation.Geographic Reference “If students sit at the same table, Indonesia is safe.   1. As the readers of The Muslim Times can see, there is some opposition to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Indonesia also, however, contrary to Pakistan there is also a lot of understanding and cooperation.
